In step 1 you tell Toricxs which directories contain the music files you want to clean up.

You have several possibilities to tell Toricxs which directory or directories contain music files. If you want to add one directory containing many mp3 files then use the ‘Add’ button (2). If you have your mp3 files spread over many sub directories then use the ‘Scan’ button (3). In both cases a Windows directory-choosing box will appear asking you to select the directory to add/to scan. Select the directory and press ‘Ok’. If your music files are spread all over the computer or over the network (during a LAN-party!) then take advantage of the Mega Scan (1).

When performing the Mega Scan, you will first be asked what you want to scan, your own computer (all hard disks and cd rom drives), the network or both. Furthermore you can define if the files to clean up should later be copied or moved to their new location.

• Do you want to clean up your own mp3 collection so that it looks good? Choose ‘hd’ and ‘move’.
• You wanna get files from your friends over the network? Choose ‘network’ and ‘copy’
• You are currently at a LAN-party and want to clean up your own collection the first time AND you want to get new files from your friends over the network? Choose ‘hds and network’ and ‘copy’. After the scan is completed you can change the copy state of the dirs of your own collection into move dirs through marking them in the list and choosing ‘Move Files’ from the right-click menu. Alternatively you can choose ‘hds and network’ and ‘ask me for every directory’, then Toricxs will ask you for every found directory if it is to be copied or to be moved, select ‘copy’ if the dirs is located on a friend’s computer and select ‘move’ if it is located on your own.

You can Toricxs also make read from multiple cds. When getting cds from your friend then either copy the contained files to your hard disk and clean them up from there, or add the cd directories in the way like done with hard disk dirs (requires more frequent disk changing, but you don’t waste time with copying). Toricxs can differ between several cds through checking their serial numbers. You can differ between the cds through the cd description, which can be entered after adding a cd directory.

During the renaming process Toricxs will request cds when required. You are displayed the changing need through an acoustic signal. The sound it allowes you to make Toricxs operate in the background, you must restore it merely when necessary.
