In step 2 you give Toricxs information required to read TAG data out of file names.
Toricxs will create your new collection’s directory- and file names and TAG
data out of the old TAG data. But sometimes it happens that files don’t have an existing TAG. What is to be done? The solution is to create the TAG data out of the file name, which mostly consists of
the song- and artist name. To make Toricxs able to do this, you should tell it how the files of your collection look like and where there is the song- artist etc. name within the file name. You do that in the
following way:
open the Quick Play window (Ctrl-Q)
Click on a file name, hold the mouse button down and drag the file over to the marking box (1)
Chose what TAG item you want to mark (2) and mark it in the marking box (1)
When finished then press the ‘Create Filter’ button (3)
A sample file name (not related to your collection) will be added to the listing box (4), Toricxs
can now read TAG data out of any file name having the same format as the one you just processed.
If there are further ‘naming formats’ existing then repeat the last four steps, otherwise you are
finished.
Please note that track numbers cannot be processed, they must be rejected as trash.
The filter string area
(5) displays detailed information about a filter. You are shown the string that define a TAG item’s start and end. If you want to edit these strings then just change them and press ‘Change Filter’.
If you want to get some
information about the current (uncleaned) TAG status of your files then press the statistics-button (7). Viewing the info is not necessary for the cleaning process, just do it if you are interested in.
When having processed all different ‘naming formats’ then press the ‘Next’ button to continue to step 3.
